Bring AI to the WordPress site you already have.
You can use AI to help with the website you already own. Begin by understanding its structure and giving each task the information and access it needs.
This guide adapts the WordPress Fuel working method. It covers a technical DIY setup and the checks around a first change. Shuttle by MoonPress is a separate desktop product being developed around existing-site work.
Know the site and the people responsible.
Use a WordPress site you are authorized to manage. Confirm the address, who manages the hosting and who may approve changes.
For the local-code route, establish the relevant hosting access, obtain the theme and custom code, and arrange a preview where possible. Keep production customer data separate. If this setup is unfamiliar, work with your developer.
Record how the website works.
Document infrastructure, plugins and integrations, theme/templates, pages/content, known issues, design rules, and architecture/components.
These seven areas give AI an observed starting point. Save what is known, identify gaps and refresh the instructions when the site changes.
Save a starting point you can return to.
Keep a reviewed code baseline in a private version-history repository before making changes. Record the versions used for work and release.
Code history covers code. Use separate backups for the database and uploads, and understand how they will be restored without discarding newer live data.
Ask for one small, reviewable task.
Open the prepared site project in your supported AI coding tool. Supply one page address and approved text. Ask AI to read the site instructions and use existing sections and styles on the preview.
Review the changed copy and layout, then ask for corrections. Keep preparation separate from a request to publish.
Check the affected behavior and release deliberately.
A staging site provides a separate place to test the intended version. If staging is unavailable, keep the change narrow and verify recovery coverage before an approved release.
Test the parts affected by the task. After publishing, inspect the live result. A screenshot cannot prove that a form, checkout or integration works.
Choose your starting route.
DIY
Use WordPress Copilot Advanced and its setup instructions. This is a technical route; bring your developer in when you need help establishing access or the local project.
Assisted setup
WordPress Fuel is our one-off setup and workshop service at Norml Studio. We connect the project, teach your team and hand over the setup. AI access, hosting and paid plugins stay separate; additional help is optional.
Shuttle by MoonPress
Explore the desktop workspace’s current access and compatibility. Its software subscription is separate from the one-off WordPress Fuel service.
