Two ways to organize AI-assisted WordPress work.
The DIY method prepares your existing site as a local project for a supported AI coding tool. Shuttle by MoonPress brings website work into a dedicated desktop workspace.
Both start with an existing website and your own AI access. Which route fits depends on the task, the technical help available and the current product capabilities.
Compare the responsibilities.
| Decision | DIY project | Shuttle by MoonPress |
|---|---|---|
| Where the work is organized | Local code project and supported AI tool | Desktop website workspace with cloud account/team data |
| AI access | Your supported AI account and its own usage terms | Your supported Claude Code or Codex account; AI usage is separate |
| Site access | Prepared by you or your developer for the site’s environment | Through the supported hosting/website connection route |
| Site knowledge | Project instructions you create and maintain | Website context and study features, subject to current coverage |
| Code release | The site’s documented version/testing/release process | Use current qualified product operations; general release automation is not assumed |
| Setup help | Your developer or a separate assisted setup | Current product onboarding plus any separately scoped help |
Review the supported connections and download Shuttle before choosing a route.
Choose DIY when you can maintain the project.
The technical route gives your team a local project containing relevant code and site instructions. You establish access, a preview where practical, version history and the release procedure.
It fits a team with the technical knowledge or developer support to keep those foundations working. The guide and WordPress Copilot Advanced instructions provide a starting route.
Explore Shuttle when you want a website workspace.
Shuttle organizes website context, conversations and supported AI access in a desktop app. Its product access and exact operations depend on the current release.
Check that the supported connection and task match your site. A workspace subscription does not automatically include every operation described in the general AI-assisted guide.
Separate the payments involved.
Your AI provider, hosting and paid plugins have their own charges. Shuttle adds a planned software subscription. WordPress Fuel is a separate one-off setup and workshop service.
Choose using the scope you need and the actual current terms. This comparison does not model savings or invent a price for developer help.
The result still needs checking.
Whichever route you use, name the task and environment, inspect the output and test affected behavior. Keep recovery coverage appropriate to the change.
Start with one bounded preview task rather than treating the choice of software as proof that a change will be correct.
