Shuttle or the AI agent from your hosting company?

Hosting companies now offer their own AI agents for WordPress. SiteGround’s AI Agent plugin works on WordPress sites wherever they’re hosted, and Hostinger Agent is built into Hostinger accounts.

Shuttle by MoonPress is an AI workspace for the WordPress site you already have. It can change your design and add features, not only content and settings, with the ChatGPT or Claude account you choose. If your host’s agent already covers what you need, it costs little or nothing extra.

The short answer.

Hosting agents handle content, store and site settings in chat. Shuttle also changes your site’s design and features, with your own AI.

Choose your host’s agent if

  • Your tasks are content, products, plugin updates and settings, handled in chat.
  • You want AI included with your hosting, through free tokens or included credits.
  • You want help with hosting tasks too, such as domains and DNS.
  • You’re happy for the hosting company to choose the AI.

Choose Shuttle if

  • You want changes to your theme, design and features, not only content and settings.
  • You want to choose the AI: your own ChatGPT or Claude account.
  • You’d rather not add another plugin to your website.
  • You want the AI to know your site, so new pages come out in your design.

How the hosting agents work.

SiteGround AI Agent. You sign up for a free SiteGround AI Studio account, install the plugin and paste a connection key. SiteGround says it works with any standalone WordPress site with HTTPS, wherever it’s hosted. SiteGround customers get 20,000 free tokens a month; other sites get a 14-day trial with 20,000 tokens, then pay $15 per 100,000 tokens. The agent creates and updates posts and pages, handles media, SEO details, WooCommerce, plugins, themes, settings and users, and can manage several sites from AI Studio. Riskier actions, such as deletions and bulk edits, need Power Mode, which is off by default. Your requests and site details go to SiteGround’s AI Studio service.

Hostinger Agent. Hostinger calls it “the first AI Agent for WordPress”. It’s built into your Hostinger account and, on Business and Cloud plans, into WordPress admin, where it manages posts and pages, plugins, themes, WooCommerce products and coupons, and site settings. It also connects domains, sets up DNS, helps with troubleshooting and confirms selected account actions before running them. Hostinger says it’s included with its Business and Cloud hosting plans; support requests are free, and business requests, such as strategy or outreach, use paid Agent credits.

How Shuttle works.

Shuttle is an AI workspace for the WordPress site you already have. You connect your site once, Shuttle learns how it’s built, and then you ask for what you need in plain words: a new page, a design change, SEO fixes or a new feature.

New pages and sections come out in your site’s own design, so you don’t wait for a designer or a developer. Nothing is installed on your website, and it stays exactly where it is.

You use the ChatGPT or Claude account you already have, and your team works on the same website, each person with their own account. AI can make mistakes, so check each change.

Where they differ.

What it can change. Hosting agents work on content, store, plugin, settings and hosting tasks, and neither describes changing your theme’s code. Shuttle can change your design and build new features in your theme.

Which AI. Hosting companies choose the AI and charge through tokens or credits. Hostinger also offers a free Connector that lets AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor work with its hosting. Shuttle uses the ChatGPT or Claude plan you already have.

Cost. A hosting agent often comes with your plan. Shuttle is a separate subscription per website.

Where you work. Hosting agents live in WordPress admin, SiteGround’s AI Studio or your Hostinger account. Shuttle is a Mac app that keeps everything about your website, and your team’s work on it, in one place.
