Shuttle or Kintsu for your WordPress site?

Kintsu is an AI editor for existing WordPress sites. You install its plugin, describe a change in chat, preview it as a draft and publish.

Shuttle by MoonPress is an AI workspace for the WordPress site you already have. It changes the site itself, in your own design, with the ChatGPT or Claude account you already pay for.

The short answer.

Kintsu adds changes on top of your site and lets you preview them. Shuttle changes your site itself.

Choose Kintsu if

  • You want a draft preview and one-click publish for every change, with easy undo.
  • You want it to work with any WordPress hosting, from any computer, in your browser.
  • You’d rather not pay for an AI plan; Kintsu includes AI through credits.
  • You want its SEO bot to publish blog posts on a schedule.

Choose Shuttle if

  • You want changes made in your site itself, not added as a layer on top.
  • You already pay for ChatGPT or Claude and want to use that.
  • You’d rather not install anything on your website.
  • You want your theme, templates and features changed, not only pages.

How Kintsu works.

You install the Kintsu plugin from wp-admin and enter a key. Kintsu says this takes under two minutes and works with any WordPress hosting. When it connects, it reads your site: theme, plugins, page builder, widgets and content.

Then you describe a change in Kintsu’s chat. Kintsu says it makes most changes as add-ons that leave your original site untouched and can be switched off. Bigger edits go to a draft copy of the page. You can compare the live and draft versions, and nothing reaches your live site until you publish. Kintsu says snapshots, a change history and one-click restore cover every change.

Kintsu supplies the AI through its own credits. Its paid plans add SEO audits, and the Builder and Agency plans add an SEO bot that publishes blog posts on a schedule.

How Shuttle works.

Shuttle is an AI workspace for the WordPress site you already have. You connect your site once, Shuttle learns how it’s built, and then you ask for what you need in plain words: a new page, a design change, SEO fixes or a new feature.

New pages and sections come out in your site’s own design, so you don’t wait for a designer or a developer. Nothing is installed on your website, and it stays exactly where it is.

You use the ChatGPT or Claude account you already have, and your team works on the same website, each person with their own account. AI can make mistakes, so check each change.

Where they differ.

How a change is made. Kintsu adds most changes as add-ons that can be switched off, so your original theme stays untouched. Shuttle changes the site itself, which keeps everything in one place but means you rely on backups to undo.

Preview. Kintsu gives every change a draft preview and a publish button. In Shuttle, you check each change on your site.

AI and cost. Kintsu includes AI through credits, with a free plan for one site. Shuttle uses the ChatGPT or Claude plan you already pay for, plus a subscription per website.

Where you work. Kintsu runs in the browser on any computer. Shuttle is a Mac app.

What you pay for.

Kintsu is free for one site with 5 credits a month. Billed annually, Business is $24 a month for one site and 50 credits, Builder $65 a month for up to 3 sites and 140 credits, and Agency $165 a month for 10 sites and 380 credits. On paid plans, you can buy extra credits when you need them.

Shuttle costs $29 per website a month for the first 3 months, then $49. Each website includes one free guest, and extra team seats are $10 a month. Your ChatGPT or Claude plan and your hosting are paid separately. Your first payment comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Questions people ask.

Does Kintsu change my theme files?

Kintsu says most changes are added on top and don’t touch your original site, and bigger edits go to a draft copy of the page first.

Does Shuttle use credits?

No. Shuttle uses your own ChatGPT or Claude account, so your AI plan’s limits apply. Shuttle’s subscription is per website.

Which is better for adding new features?

For features that belong in your theme, Shuttle builds them into the site itself. If you want to preview every change before publishing, including small features added on top, Kintsu’s draft workflow is built for that.
